Thurston Regional Planning Council (TRPC) is an intergovernmental board made up of local government jurisdictions within Thurston County in Washington State. TRPC is located in Olympia, Washington (the state capital). The Council develops regional plans and policies for transportation, growth management, environmental quality and other topics.  TRPC also acts as a regional clearinghouse for planning and demographic information and data.

TRPC has worked with the Washington State Department of General Administration to update State Department Locations and Employee Estimates for Thurston County.

Shoreline Master Program
The cities of Lacey, Olympia, and Tumwater are in the midst of updating their policies and regulations for shorelines.  TRPC has prepared a draft package of proposed Regulations and supporting Technical Documents. 

Regional Economic Stimulus Projects
Over $5.5 million was awarded to non-transit projects and another $2.2 million was awarded to transit projects in the Thurston region. Learn about the projects and follow their progress through completion.

Building a Generation of Safe and Healthy Walkers, Bicycle and Bus Riders
This region has embarked on a school demonstration project to built and sustain partnerships that will result in a new generation of walkers, bike and bus riders, and reduce trips to and around schools.

Natural Hazards Mitigation Plan for the Thurston Region Update
Twenty local governments, special districts, colleges, and other public agencies have participated in the development of the multi-jurisdictional “Natural Hazards Mitigation Plan for the Thurston Region”. This plan was approved by the Federal Emergency Management Agency on October 6, 2003 and is now in the process of being updated.
