Let Intercity Transit do the driving! Intercity Transit (IT) can help you get to work and to errands and appointments during the day. Check out IT's webpage at http://www.intercitytransit.com/ for an overview of routes and schedules.

IT will plan the trip for you contact IT at customerservice@intercitytransit.com or 786-1881 for a custom trip plan.

State agencies can have transit guides delivered to their worksites by calling consolidated mail at 665-9617.

IT PASS PROGRAMS:

State Employees: The STAR Pass is an annual bus pass for state employees in Thurston County paid for by the state. Contact Joan Cullen for more details at 902-7318 or visit http://www.ga.wa.gov/CTR/starpass.htm.

The Evergreen State College and South Puget Sound Community College: Students, faculty, and Staff may use an appropriate ID for a transit pass.   Contact the school's registrar's office for more details.

Thurston County and Thurston Regional Planning Council Employees: Pre paid employee transit passes for unlimited rides on IT services are provided by the employer.

Pierce Transit: For transit service from Tacoma and Pierce County, contact Pierce Transit at 1-800-562-8109
Grays Harbor Transit: for transit service from Aberdeen and Grays Harbor, contact Grays Harbor Transit at 1-800-562-9730
Mason Transit: For transit service from Shelton and Mason County, contact Mason Transit at 1-800-374-3747 or 360-427-5033.
Sound Transit: Sound Transit operates bus and rail service in central Puget Sound, contact Sound Transit at 1-800-201-4900.

Nationally, transit ridership increased by 3.5% last year to 9.4 billion rides – the highest increase in more than 40 years. Over the past five years, transit use has increased 20%. (July 2001 Regional View, Puget Sound Regional Council).
