WEST BAY HABITAT ASSESSMENT

June 2002
A habitat assessment of West Bay in Olympia, Washington was conducted as it relates to the use of West Bay by waterbirds. The original study was designed to identify the use of the Port of Olympia lagoon and exposed West Bay mudflats by Great Blue Heron and shorebirds and to note any impact on their use before and during construction of the Fourth Avenue Bridge. The study was expanded to identify and document the uses of West Bay by all waterbirds and raptors.
