Work Group

Work Group Progress

On October 24, 2011 the Land Use, Transportation and Climate Change work
group presentation to the Sustainable Thurston Task Force provided information regarding: 

  • relationships between land use, transportation and climate change, and 
  • how land use and transportation relate to the other panel areas being
    explored in the Sustainable Thurston project (other panel areas include
    economic development, health & human services, housing, schools &
    transportation, water/sewer/stormwater, public safety, energy, solid
    waste, local food systems, outreach & education

The purpose of the presentation was to inform the process and to serve as
a starting point for the public conversation set to start in 2012. Please click

Work Group Role

This work group is tasked with describing the foundation land use and
transportation policies and principles underpinning adopted comprehensive
plans that guide growth throughout the region; and subsequent effects of
that growth on climate change.
