Solid Waste Work Group

Work Group Role
The efforts of the Solid Waste Work Group are built on the baseline of current population projections and adopted local plans. Members are working to answer these questions:
- What is working well in the areas of solid and hazardous waste? What made it work?
- What are solid/hazardous waste-related barriers to sustainable development in our region?
- What are opportunities to overcome these barriers?
Work Group Progress
The research and information gathered by the Solid Waste Work Group has been compiled in a Draft White Paper that was presented to the Sustainable Thurston Task Force on Monday, February 13, 2012. The purpose of the Draft White Paper is to inform the Sustainable Thurston process and serve as a starting point for the public conversation set to begin in early 2012.
