Transportation and land use have been a focal point for local and regional planning for decades. This presentation will highlight some key aspects of these coordinated processes that inform much of the panel work underway.

In this work session, Task Force members will identify important linkages between transportation, land use, and the other panel areas being explored in this sustainability planning process. (Other panel areas include economic development, health & human services, housing, schools & transportation, water/sewer/stormwater, public safety, energy, solid waste, local food systems, outreach & education.)

Task Force members and audience are invited to a special viewing of “Retrofitting Suburbia,” a presentation by Ellen Dunham-Jones on the important sustainability concept of retrofitting under-utilized commercial lands.
