Guiding Documents
Regional plans provide a framework for coordinated transportation planning. These guiding documents address regionally-significant facilities or services and inform future planning and investment decisions. They are developed in collaboration with local agencies and stakeholders to ensure consistency between local and regional efforts.

2025 Thurston Regional Transportation Plan: Guiding Our Future
The Regional Transportation Plan (RTP) serves as a strategic blueprint for the region’s transportation system. It provides an overall analysis of how transportation will work in the region over a 20 year time frame and supports coordination among jurisdictions.
Thurston Regional Trails Plan
The Regional Trails Plan offers a vision for a region-wide trail network that connects people with places not just within Thurston County, but also looks beyond its borders for potential connections with neighboring counties. The plan is foremost a trail systems blueprint. It illustrates through maps and user-friendly narratives how multiple trails can connect.
