Explanation

Poverty rates in Thurston County are higher for persons of color (those identifying as Hispanic, Latino, or a race other than white). Over the 2015-2019 time period, the poverty rate was 14.1% for persons of color compared to 9.1% for the white, non-Hispanic population. The poverty rate was highest for American Indian or Alaskan Natives and lowest for Asians.
