Explanation

Poverty rates in Thurston County are higher for people of color (those identifying as Hispanic, Latino, or a race other than white). Over the 2016-2020 time period, the poverty rate was 12.9% for persons of color compared to 9.8% for the white, non-Hispanic population. The poverty rate was highest for people of a race other than those listed in the chart above and lowest for people who are white, non-Hispanic.
