The Climate Action Steering Committee will meet February 28.

Thank you for your interest in the Thurston Climate Mitigation Plan and for signing up for climate mitigation plan updates. We are excited to inform you about progress on Thurston County, Lacey, Olympia, and Tumwater’s strategy to reduce local contributions to climate change.
On Monday, February 28, 2022, from 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm Thurston Regional Planning Council will host a Climate Action Steering Committee meeting. Click here to access the meeting webinar registration link, agenda, and materials.
The committee will approve ongoing meeting dates and consider comments to the State Building Code Council on proposed changes to the Commercial Energy Code. There will also be a presentation with background on carbon sequestration, which was postponed last month and a presentation on King County’s Forest Carbon program.
There will be an opportunity for public comment at the start of the meeting – if you wish to provide oral comment during the meeting, please check the box to indicate this when registering. Written comments may be emailed to climate@trpc.org, and must be received by noon on February 25, 2022, to be provided to the Committee prior to the meeting.

- Olympia has created a dedicated webpage with resources on going solar – residents can learn how to tell if their home is suitable for solar, go through the installation and permitting process, and find financing options
- March 15 - 2022 Applications are open for businesses looking to register as a Thurston Green Business. Thurston Green Businesses receive recognition for their leadership in conserving energy, reducing waste, saving water, and other sustainable practices. Applications are open through March 15.
