Explanation

The 2019 Point-in-Time Count identified 952 Thurston County residents experiencing homelessness. Of those who reported their race or ethnicity, persons of color were disproportionately represented compared to the housed population.

Person of Color

TRPC defines “person of color” as anyone included in Census Bureau counts of Black or African American, American Indian and Alaska Native, Asian or Asian American, Native Hawaiian and Other Pacific Islander, Some Other Race, or Hispanic or Latine population either alone or in combination with another race or ethnicity.
