Explanation
Over 456 million tons of goods valued at $512 billion were estimated to have been shipped from Washington State in 2022. In contrast, 529 million tons of goods valued at $485 billion were estimated to have been shipped to Washington State. The majority of these goods were shipped by truck.
By 2050, freight that originates in Washington is projected to increase to 665 million tons ($972 million) while freight destined for Washington is projected to increase to 758 million tons ($862 billion).
