Over 437 million tons of goods valued at $500 million were estimated to have been shipped from Washington State in 2020. In contrast, 510 million tons of goods valued at $476 million were estimated to have been shipped to Washington State. The majority of these goods were shipped by truck.
By 2050, freight that originates in Washington is projected to increase to 538 million tons ($972 million) while freight destined for Washington is projected to increase to 661 million tons ($979 million).
