ruralTRANSIT Deviation Policy
ruralTRANSIT will provide route deviations up to ¾ of a mile from the fixed route.
Deviations must be scheduled by calling customer service (253-472-7846) by the end of the previous business day between 8 am and 5 pm.
If a deviation is needed on a Monday, it should be scheduled by close of business at 5 pm the Friday before.

ruralTRANSIT will schedule as many deviations as the current fixed route allows to stay on schedule.
Each scheduled deviation will be at the discretion of the customer service dispatcher.
The pickup and drop off area for the deviation must be in a verified safe location. This includes having enough space for the bus to turn around without having to back up. A deviation may be denied if the pick-up or drop off location is deemed unsafe by the driver or customer service.
